I remember the period when we had just passed out from the college. There was no job, hardly any money,no work, lots of frustration. It was post 9/11.Me & my friends were in bhubaneswar, living in an world of despair.
Once I was travelling in a bike with my friend & the bike got punctured. We took it to a garage near-by.The mechanic had gone for lunch,so we thought we would try to make it ourselves.we were really tired & hungry that time. The place was near by our college from where we had passed out.
At that moment two of the college lecturers were passing by.They just stepped in & asked,'what the hell you people are doin here'.
My friend who was a bit short tempered said,'what the hell do you think we are doin here.what the hell we supposed to do when we complete our education from the college that you teach. We have opened this garage & working as mechanics'.
At that instant the two lecturers started their bikes & went away with the maximum speed.

Thanks Latha for your encouraging comments.
India has developed a lot since liberisation & i believe unemployement is no more a problem in india. The only rough period was that of post 9/11.I still feel that was a very wrong time to comeout of college.I felt,Bin Laden did not attack America. He attacked us directly.
& you are right when you said that my friend's reaction was just a spontaneous outbrust. He was a good student in college & actually was liked by both the lecturers.

Dear Akash
A nice article displaying the frustration of youth. I can understand the responsibility thrusted on the shoulders of men and can to a certain extent realise the hardships they go through without job. But most of today's younger generation forget how to interact with elders. I know the reaction from your friend's mouth was in no way intending to hurt your lecturers but only a spontaneous outpour out of helplessness. Still I feel there should be some kind of refinement in our speech while talking to elders. Though all are aware of it, as you say frustration and youth blind our eyes.
A nice write-up indeed.
